Join us for our new Lunch and Learn series, designed to give Dorset employers practical insights in a relaxed, friendly setting.
This session focuses on T Levels – what they are, how they work, and the real benefits they can bring to your organisation. Whether you’ve already hosted a T Level student or you’re just curious about how placements fit into your business, this informal session is the perfect place to learn more and ask questions.
Facilitated by:
Rosie Knapper, Project Lead for the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP)
With insights from:
- Amin Pasandideh, Worksity
- Joanna Jack, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care
- Will Proctor, Bournemouth & Poole College
Our employer speakers will share their first-hand experiences of hosting T Level students — including the challenges, how they overcame them, how mentoring worked in practice, and the benefits they’ve seen for their teams and businesses.
From the provider’s perspective, Will Proctor will outline how the College supports both employers and students throughout the placement, and how T Level learners progress into further study or employment.
What are T Levels and why do they matter to employers?
T Levels are two-year qualifications for 16–19-year-olds, developed in collaboration with employers to meet real industry needs. They combine classroom learning with a 45-day industry placement, giving students hands-on experience while helping businesses access new talent.
For employers, T Levels are a chance to:
- Develop a talent pipeline – spot and shape future recruits before they enter the job market.
- Build capacity – gain fresh ideas and energy from motivated young people.
- Enhance staff skills – existing employees often grow their mentoring and leadership capabilities through supervising placements.
- Raise your profile – demonstrate your organisation’s commitment to local skills development and community impact.
Whether you’re a small business or a larger employer, T Levels offer a flexible, supported way to engage with young people and strengthen your future workforce.
So, grab your lunch, log on, and join us for an hour of learning, sharing and connecting.
