Audlem Staircase

This special free Let’s Walk Nantwich social walk lead by our trained walk leaders provides an opportunity to enjoy a gentle walk to and from the centre of Audlem village alongside 11 “staircase” locks of the Shropshire Union Canal.
It will involve a stroll along the towpath starting from outside The Shroppie Fly pub in Audlem walking gently uphill to Lock No 3 and then back down to the start, a distance of approximately 2.5 miles. The walk is suitable for all ages and abilities but does initially involve a steady but gentle incline and will take approximately 1.5 hours.
Meeting Point – Outside of The Shroppie Fly pub, Audlem Street Wharf, Shropshire Street CW3 0DX
Start time – 10.30 am
Duration – Approximately 1.5 hours
Difficulty – Rambler’s grade - Easy but with an initial steady gentle incline
Cost – Free but advance booking required via Eventbrite – 20 places maximum
Car parking – Cheshire Street Audlem CW3 0AH Free car park approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the start point
Public Transport - No 72 bus from Nantwich
Other points to note
• Ages 18 and over only.
• We can only take people on the walk who have booked a place.
• Bookings close 24 hours before the walk starts.
• No dogs.
• To help with parking, arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booked time.
• If you book and then can’t come, please cancel your place via Eventbrite. This frees up the place for another person.
Ramblers Walk Grade: Easy - walks for adults aged 18+ who do not have a severe mobility difficulty and/or is not seriously unfit. Route may include unsurfaced rural towpath.
