Description

About the workshop:

Better Start Bradford aims to improve life chances of babies and children through improved social and emotional development, nutrition, language and communication development and system change.

This workshop will explore how we use innovation and out of the box thinking to meet the need of babies, children and their families. This is an exploratory workshop to work together to think about how the Innovation Fund should operate. We will use the conclusions from this session to help us establish an Innovation fund which welcomes new ideas from a range of groups/partners/stakeholder organisations

The innovation fund will be a great opportunity for local organisations to test new and innovative ideas for service design, development and delivery.

We will be looking for creative proposals that clearly relate to at least one of our developmental outcomes;

  • Language and communication

  • Diet and nutrition

  • Social and emotional

The workshop will cover:

  • What we mean by innovation

  • Processes that work for everyone

  • Eligibility criteria

  • Budgets

 Better Start Bradford works with families in Bowling and Barkerend, Bradford Moor and Little Horton to give children the best possible start. We do this through a range of innovative projects to support families through pregnancy and the earliest years of their children's lives.

Our projects focus on children’s social and emotional development, language and communication skills, and health and nutrition, and are delivered by a range of partner organisations.

We are funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, using National Lottery funding, for 10 years (until 2025). Working with local partners, we aim to leave a lasting legacy for children, families and the whole area.
