Spreading the Magic of Christmas

Writing and posting a letter to Santa is a tradition cherished by families and as much a part of the seasonal festivities as school nativity performances, mince pies and turkey dinners.

This year we want to be part of this much loved Christmas custom and we will be giving children the opportunity to write their letters to Santa, they will also be decorating envelopes and heading off on a winter walk through the HIVE to find Santa's special post box! Along the way the children will need to use their maps to locate the secret stamping stations needed to ensure their letter makes it all the way to Lapland!

There will be a warming cup of hot chocolate or a bag of chocolate coins and a cold drink in the Cafe at Moss Bank Park ready for the your little once their special letter has been posted.

And for that final bit of Christmas cheer, all children completing the challenge will receive their very own personalised letter through the post from Santa after the event.

Children have been writing letters to St Nicholas for over 150 years,
practising their writing skills as they jot down their greatest wishes to this cherished man living in a faraway frozen land. Make the most of this wonderful tradition and join us for a memorable event this Christmas at the Hive.

Saturday November 23 and Sunday November 24th, Wednesday 27th November, Saturday December 7th and Sunday December 8th.

There are 8 slots each day starting at 9.30am. Last entry will be at 1.00pm. The slots have been scheduled for 1 hour and 30 minutes each, this is just a suggested duration and visitors are welcome to take as long as they like to complete the activity.

Letter packs are priced at £5.00 for online orders or from the cafe on the day at £6.50 per pack (if limit for the event not reached) on the day. The price includes a letter packs containing a letter template, pencil, full instructions and a trail map to help you find the special North Pole Stamp and Santa's Post Box plus a voucher for a hot chocolate or cold drink and chocolate coins in the Cafe at Moss Bank Park for all participating children.

Younger Sibblings
Any child wishing to receive the letter writing pack and complete the challenge will require a ticket. Those children under 2 years without packs can accompany sibblings on the adventure and will not be charged to access the site.

We have use of the public toilets in Moss Bank Park located just outside the entrance to the Hive. We have running water and hand washing facilities.
