Overview
Come & hold space for yourself, sis - even when others cannot. An online creative journaling workshop for women of African heritage.
Aim:
This 3 day online creative journaling workshop is an invitation for you as a ''Black'' woman to challenge dismissive statements like ''just let go!'', ''get over it!'', ''move on!'', ''forgive!'' or ''I'm sorry that you haven't been able to pass through this'' etc.. by using simple but empowering tools to:
- honour the pace at which you are processing things
- give your experiences an articulate voice & hear your inner wisdom
- cultivate your ability to hold space for yourself when others cannot/ will not
- shift yourself from self-blame to self-compassion
- re-gain that courage to trust your own emotions & instincts
- feel grounded & exercise mindfulness
- provide an outlet for pent-up emotions in a creative way
- gently uncover what has been buried within you & weighing you down that you'd like to leave behind you in 2025
Requirement:
In order to avoid disappointment & gain maximum benefit from the experience do bring along with you these items on the following days:
- Day 1: your favourite journal, pen
- Day 2: your favourite journal, stationary, prefered colouring medium (e.g.: pastels/ chalk/pencils/crayons/ feltps, etc)
- Day 3: your favourite journal/ art pad/ plane sheet of paper/paint pad, paintbrushes
If you can't find any of the above lying around your home, then something to write with & on can suffice.
