Leuchars Station Open Day
Sat 3 June 2017, 11:00 – 16:00 BST
Come along and celebrate the Armed Forces in Fife
The base invites the public through the doors of Waterloo Lines, to welcome them onto the station to experience ‘life at Leuchars’ since transition from the RAF to Army ownership.
Susan Budd, Leuchars Station Community Support Officer said: “The station is thrilled to be able to put this event on for our families at Leuchars and the public. “It is an ideal opportunity for the residents of Fife and further afield to come onto the station itself and experience and learn more about what we do here at Leuchars Station as well as enjoying all of the other entertainment provided.”
There are a number of events and activities happening on the day, which include; a stage & arena where there will be music, marching bands, military displays, highland dancing and other entertainment throughout the day; a ‘Military Village’ where the public will be able to view and interact with a vast number of military capability displays provided by Units from Leuchars Station and elsewhere; there will be photo opportunities with the SCOTS Guards, serving soldiers, military and vintage vehicles and ‘Dress as a solider’; there will be a number of food and beverage outlets providing hot and cold food and refreshments throughout the day; funfair rides for all the family; a 100 ft assault course and children’s bouncy castles; a supercar static display featuring 8 supercars; a Craft Traders hanger and much more.
