About this event

By giving all members of staff an awareness of mental health and mental health first aid, you will be working on all of those points in one go!

This Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health is an 𝗢𝗳𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 course, is 𝗖𝗣𝗗 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 and 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘆. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲'𝘀, 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵.

At the end of this course, the learners will:

🔸 Know what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the role of a First Aider for Mental Health

🔸 Know how to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting a suspected mental health condition

🔸 Know how to recognise and manage stress

🔸 Know how to recognise a range of mental health conditions

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘀 run via trainer-led virtual classroom.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 two 𝟮½ 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗭𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻s (from 10:00 - 12:30 and 13:30 - 16:00)

We also run these courses in person, in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
