LEVEL 1 AWARD IN MENTORING

Level 1 Award in Mentoring: For Working in Schools, Community, Youth and Play.
This is a Level 1 Award in Mentoring Course which is designed for those in or working towards gaining a supportive role to mentor children within a school, community, youth and play environment, or anyone thinking of becoming a sports coach.
The course offers the opportunity to consider the roles, purposes and skills of mentors and to develop personal practice. No placement is required for this course, however applicants will need to have access to at least one young person (family member/ child etc) to complete their case study on.
What Will I Study?
There are 2 units to be completed:
-The role of a mentor
-Preparing for the role of a Mentor
As a bonus! We are also offering 3 additional qualifications FREE OF CHARGE to all registered applicants:
1. Safeguarding Children Level 1
2. Prevent Training and
3. Lone Working
These are all qualifications necessary to work with children, giving each applicant an increased chance of gaining employment in their desire sector.
How Will This Course Be Delivered?
The duration of the course is 6 weeks. This is made up of two, 4 hour face to face sessions at the Mac in week 1 and week 5. All other workbook tasks will be completed by you at home. Participants will be expected to email completed work to there course tutor for assessment and marking.
What Qualifications Will I Get?
On completion of your Level 1 Award in Mentoring you will gain a NCFE Level 1 Award in Mentoring Qualification with three additional Level 1 Certificates in; Safeguarding, Prevent and Lone Working.
How Will I Be Assessed?
Assessment will be made on a portfolio put together throughout the duration of the course, plus one observation of you in the role of a mentor in week 5. Photo and video evidence will also make up elements of your portfolio.

How Do I Get A Place On The Course?
Sign up today for our 6th May 2017 intake. Anyone can complete this course as no prior experience, qualifications and or skills are necessary.

You must be aged 18+

You may be interested in our Level 2 Award in Mentoring or IAG (Information Advice and Guidance), Assessors Qualification (TAQA) and or AET ( Award In Education and Training) which replaced the old PTLLS.
