Event description
Level 1 Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health for Energy Workers - 14th and 16th July

About this Event

Mental health awareness has had an increasing profile in the energy sector over recent years. Perhaps now, more than ever, maintaining good mental health is challenging, with fears of redundancy, furloughing and family ill-health all posing a potential distraction from safe operations.

Being able to spot the signs and symptoms associated with deteriorating mental health, and having the knowledge and confidence to provide the opportunity for those affected to talk openly about their feelings, is crucial in supporting positive mental health and, consequently, safety.

Step Change in Safety is pleased to offer an accredited (FAA) remote learning Level 1 Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health for Energy Workers. Our exclusive training course is conducted by, and in association with Brett Townsley, the award-winning Innovations Director at Omniscient Safety.

This bespoke course has been specifically adapted to retain the complete syllabus of mental health first aid training but with the added advantage of being industry-specific for the energy worker, and includes discussion, case studies and energy-industry specific data.

What you can expect on this remote self-learning course.

Candidates will be issued with a welcome email on the course commencement date from Omniscient Safety Innovations. This email will also contain all the material needed to commence yourself learning journey.

The course is of a 2-week duration period, in which it is recommended learners conduct a minimum of 3 hours self-learning, this will also be supported with 2 x 1 hour tutor led webinar sessions conducted via Microsoft Teams, please note learners must attend both sessions as per course requirements. Failure to do so may result in learners forfeiting the course.

To enable learners to gain this qualification a 1-1 assessment must be completed in the second week of the course. A 30-minute video assessment will be arranged with individuals after the second webinar takes place.

Upon completion an electronic certificate will be issued to all successful learners along with an Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health supporting booklet.

Candidate cancellations/deferrals will only be accepted with a 4-week notice period after this time the booking will be forfeited.

July - Self learning to commence 12th, webinar dates 14th & 16th 11am-12pm and assessments taking place week of 19th- 23rd.
