Event Description
This 3.5-hour training session equips frontline staff with advanced skills in risk assessment and multi-agency safeguarding processes.

The training focuses on understanding risk factors, using the DASH and YP DASH, and working within Gloucestershire’s multi-agency structures, including MASH and MARAC. Participants will explore case learning from Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDRs), legislation, and how to apply professional judgement to safeguard victims, including children as victims in their own right.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will:

  • Understand the risk factors associated with domestic abuse.
  • Know how to risk assess cases using tools such as the DASH and YP DASH.
  • Recognise children as victims in their own right.
  • Understand the role of multi-agency working in safeguarding and safety planning, including MASH, MARAC, and DVDS processes.
  • Know how to share information appropriately in domestic abuse cases.
  • Understand their role in identifying risk, making onward referrals, and safeguarding.
  • Learn from Domestic Homicide Reviews and strengthen understanding of the risks of homicide and suicide.
  • Be confident in applying relevant offences and legislation to practice.
