Description

Universal Credit – Level 2 Training

The government has confirmed that Universal Credit Full Service will arrive in Cardiff on 28th February 2018.

Universal Credit will replace six means tested benefits including Housing Benefit

  • Income Support
  • Income Based JSA
  • Income Related ESA
  • Working Tax Credits
  • Child Tax Credits
  • Housing Benefit

The administration of Universal Credit is very different to the benefits that it is replacing, however there are three key changes to which claimants will need to adapt:

  • A single payment to the household
  • Paid monthly in arrears
  • Universal Credit Housing Cost Element (help for rent) paid directly to the claimant

About the event:

This is a FREE half day session which will provide participants with a working knowledge of Universal Credit Full Service, how Universal Credit works for different groups of people interfacing with the benefit, how to assist claimants to make and maintain their claims for Universal Credit and what additional support can be accessed by Universal Credit claimants.

Who should attend?

The session is aimed at those front line staff who will be directly supporting people and providing advice e.g. customer service, support workers, hostel officers, advice officers, income officers, money advisors, rent collection officers.

Objectives of the event
