Event description

Description

UKGBC is excited to announce an international webinar ‘mini-series’ in partnership with Urban Green Council in New York City - an affiliate of USGBC, as part of our Cities programme.

The webinars will hear from expert speakers from each side of the Atlantic and focus on climate and energy policy in New York and UK cities. We will consider what has worked well, the barriers to take up, and the incentives needed to unlock action, learning from good (and poor) practice in each country.

#2 Retrofit requirements: incentives that unlock action

30 May 2019, 9.30 -10.30am EDT, 2.30- 3.30pm GMT

Governments around the world are taking action to accelerate building retrofits. In the near future, New York City will likely require that large buildings reduce their energy consumption. The UK has policies that prevent buildings from being sold or leased until they meet energy requirements. How are these approaches different, and how can we avoid repeating mistakes?

Join UKGBC and Urban Green for a Global Exchanges webinar on retrofit mandates. Experts will explore the details of existing policies and share important lessons.

Speakers

  • Jenny Holland, Public Affairs & Policy Specialist, UKGBC
  • Jessica Smith, Policy and Public Affairs Advisor, Rockwool
  • Russell Unger, Chief Strategy Officer, Urban Green Council

CPD: 1 hour
