Are you looking to join the Violence Against Women sector or progress your career within the sector?

Welsh Women’s Aid Level 3 Certificate in preventing and tacking domestic abuse is an accredited training course, designed to provide you with the opportunity to develop and enhance the skills and knowledge you need to be confident in your role as a domestic abuse practitioner.

On this course you will learn about the nature and impact of domestic abuse on survivors and their children, understand risk factors which make abuse more likely and how to provide effective support to victims. You will explore how to work in a multiagency setting to manage risk and improve the safety of the survivor and those around them. You will have the opportunity to learn about best practice through a trauma informed approach.

Tutor support will be available throughout.

What will be covered in the training?

Unit A: Understanding Domestic Abuse within a Social and Historical Context (5 half days)

13th - 17th October 2025, 9:30 - 13:00.

Unit B: Understanding Child Protection in the Context of Domestic Abuse (5 half days)

10th - 14th November 2025, 9:30 - 13:00.

Unit C: The Role of the Domestic Abuse Practitioner (5 half days)

8th - 12th December 2025, 9:30 - 13:00.

Unit D: Domestic Abuse Partnerships and a Coordinated Community Response (4 half days)

12th - 15th January 2026, 9:30 - 13:00.

What are the requirements?

Learners are required to complete all four units. Following each unit, learners will need to submit a portfolio of work for assessment.

Accreditition: Level 3 Certificate awarded by The NOCN Group on completion of all four units and workbooks.

Cancellations must be made in writing and may be subject to an administration charge.

If you are unable to attend, you must notify us in wiriting at least 2 working days prior to the course date. Please email training@welshwomensaid.org.uk.

Will I need to attend all of the dates

Yes, learners are required to attend all the dates of the course, however if you are unable to attend any, please contact us to discuss how we might help you complete the course.

Is there funding to cover the cost of the course?

Unfortunately, we are unable to help cover some of the cost of the training, however if you have sourced funding we are happy for you to use this. We can offer flexible payment plans that work for you and this will need to be agreed in advance. Please contact us to discuss this.
