Somerset County Council in association with Autism Somerset CIC and Dazed & Confused learning Provider have won a Government grant to run a subsidised intensive fast-track Level 3 accredited Education and Training qualification accredited via Ascentis formerly AptEd.
Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at Somerset residents or those who work in Somerset, and are engaged in community support work and wish to achieve a formal qualification in order to advance their careers. There are 4 criteria applicants need to meet before they can be accepted on the course.
1. Live or work in Somerset
2. Be 19 plus
3. Work in the community or for a charity or be a carer or support worker or volunteer in the community
4. Possess relevant English and Maths qualifications either Key Skills, Functional Skills or GCSE’s at Level 2
The course is split into 3 easy to follow modules to which are attached 3 specific assignment assessment tasks. These assignment tasks are written essay tasks and are to be completed on computer and submitted electronically for marking. The tasks are formally marked with feedback given to allow development if necessary. In addition to the 3 assignment tasks you will be asked to conduct a 15 minute Micro-Teach in order to successfully complete. It is expected that all learners will carry out a certain amount of self-directed learning and research in order to be able to complete all the assignment tasks fully and meet the necessary criteria.
