This course will teach learners how to spot and help someone who is going through mental health challenges. Participants will learn to recognise different common mental health conditions and understand what someone struggling with their mental well-being might need. It also helps employers meet the legal requirements for providing first aid support, as outlined in the relevant health and safety rules in both England and Northern Ireland.
The course includes lunch and refreshments.

- Understanding the principles of mental well-being
- Know the legal requirements for managing mental health in the workplace
- How to recognise the causes and impact of stress
- Recognise and support those with a common mental health condition
- How to recognise and support individuals with psychosis, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia.
- Understanding why individuals may use harmful strategies to cope with a mental health disorder
- How to recognise and support an individual in a suicidal crisis
