Learning Outcomes – Level 3

  • Understand the principles of the ASP Act and their implications for practice
  • Understand what is meant by the terms “adult at risk” and “harm”
  • Understand the Council’s duty to make inquiries and the implications for practice
  • Understand about the duty of Co-operation and the implications for practice
  • Understand the duty to consider the importance of providing advocacy and other services and the implications for practice
  • Understand the functions of a council officer, health professional, police constable, and police officer in charge under the ASP Act

Who should attend the session ?

The session is targeted to West Lothian Social Policy, NHS and Police team managers / supervisors working with practitioners supporting adults who may be at risk of harm. You are requested to register with an employee email address in order for your attendance to be recorded and verified.

What if I can no longer attend the session?

We kindly request you cancel your booking via eventbrite in order to allow for the space to become available for another practitioner to attend. You are welcome to check the calendar of events and we hope to see you at a future session again.

Where can I park?

There is parking available at the Livingston Football Stadium or at the Terrace Car Park off Howden South Road / Almondvale Boulevard with a short walk to the Civic Centre.
