Description

The Level 5 Certificate in Primary School Physical Education Specialism (QCF) is a bespoke primary school PE qualification, developed by Sports Leaders UK (SLUK) and Association of Physical Education (AfPE), to upskill staff working in Primary Schools to support the delivery and leadership of high quality PE and school sport.

This is an excellent use of the primary PE and sport premium because it develops sustainable excellence. Please be aware that this is a 6 day course spread over the course of 6 months.

Course Deliverer:

Crichton Casbon is a nationally recognised leader in physical education and sport. His background in primary PE is extensive:

  • 8 years as a PE adviser in East Sussex teaching in 220+ schools

  • 11 years at QCA writing the national curriculum programmes of study and schemes of work

  • Lead for PE and School Sport (PESS) Project exploring the impact of PESS

  • Joint-author with Dr Lynne Spackman of Assessment in PE

  • Specialist in performance management and impact evaluation

FAQs

What are the dates of the course?

• Thursday 16th & Friday 17th November
• Thursday 18th & Friday 19th January (West Hove Infant School)
• Thursday 8th & Friday 9th March

Participants must attend all days to complete the course.

What are the course pre requisities?

Participants must be teachers, higher level teaching assistants, teaching assistants (TAs) or coaches (who assist teachers in their PE teaching). TAs and coaches should have extensive experience across year groups and pupil groups and play an integral part in assisting the raising of standards within primary school education

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

If you plan to drive please provide your car registration number to reserve a parking space. Regular buses and trains run from Brighton to Falmer.
