Peter Micallef - Tutor at Kaplan

Peter's professional journey began at an early age, taking on diverse roles such as a milkman's assistant at 14, a chef at Burger King at 16, and a singer in a rock band from 12 to 18. After completing his A Levels, Peter chose not to pursue university immediately, instead launching his career as a Finance Assistant at a London Borough Council. He later transitioned to the role of Credit Controller at University College London.

In 2002, Peter embarked on a distinguished career with the Metropolitan Police, ascending through the ranks to become an Acting Detective Inspector. During his tenure, he contributed to significant investigations, including the Cutty Sark Fire, the London Riots, and the London Olympic Games.

In 2012, Peter relocated with his family to Warrington to pursue an undergraduate degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. He graduated in 2015 with a First-Class Degree in Accounting and Finance, receiving five Dean’s List honours and the award for the best overall performer. Continuing his academic success, Peter earned an MSc with Merit in Accounting and Finance in 2016, again securing the overall best performance award.

Peter dedicated two years to lecturing at Manchester Metropolitan University, specialising in Accounting, Finance, and Economics. His industry experience spans several roles, including Finance Assistant, Finance Officer, Data Analyst, Senior Data Analyst, Financial Business Partner, and Senior Operational Performance Analyst.

For the past three years, Peter has been a tutor at Kaplan, where he imparts knowledge on management accounting papers, including Case Study, Financial Management, Performance Management, and Business Strategy.

As a Chartered Management Accountant with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Peter obtained associate membership in 2016 and holds various leadership and investigation certifications.

Who is this suitable for?

This is suitable for Kaplan apprentices, Kaplan UK students, Kaplan staff, and any employers who want to join. We have a limit of available places, which will be allocated on a first come first-served basis. We look forward to seeing you all there!
