Join us for the launch the Greater Manchester APPG’s 2021 Levelling-Up Series. Our very first session will look at the economic impact of the pandemic on Greater Manchester's towns and cities and assess what is now needed to level-up and get our cities and towns working again.

After a year of lockdowns and tier level restrictions, we know there are some serious and devastating economic challenges ahead for Greater Manchester. Our region has been hit hard and how we live, work, rest and play has changed, so how can Greater Manchester’s towns and cities drive future growth and recovery?

This first session will kickstart the debate on what Greater Manchester needs to bounce back and level-up investment; drive sustainable growth and support our business community to get back on its feet and boost productivity and innovation? Greater Manchester is known for its resilience and ambition and our opening session will bring together MPs, Peers, stakeholders and GM's Metro Mayor Andy Burnham to hear first-hand from Greater Manchester’s business leaders about their vision, levelling-up and what’s needed to get our towns and cities back to work.

Future sessions in this levelling-up series will focus-in on levelling-up Net Zero, Transport, Housing, Education, Skills and Jobs but this launch session will provide the wider economic context and provide a useful opportunity to brief and inform Greater Manchester MPs, Peers and business leaders.
