Where is the power in your writing?

What impact do you want your writing to have? If you want to highlight an issue that matters to you or change a situation, writing can be a powerful way to get people's attention. In this session we will explore a variety of forms of political writing, inspired by activism and local action in Lewisham.

No experience necessary, everyone is welcome.

This is part of a series of six free workshops following Deptford Literature Festival 2024, which you are also welcome to book and attend.

About the artists:

Carinya Sharples is a writer and teacher living in southeast London. She is currently working on a PhD at the University of Leicester, exploring representations of mixedness in Guyanese literature. She is also working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) alongside her studies.
