Event description

Description

Warwickshre Pride's LGBT+ Awareness Training is now FREE for voluntary and public sector organisations. May's training session will take place at Newtown Community Centre in Nuneaton. Bookings are now open and are on a first come, first served basis. Due to the limited space at this training session, we can only allow a maximum of two people per organisation to attend.

The training session will cover:

  • Terminology;
  • Issues faced by LGBT+ people;
  • Challenging homophobic, biphobic and transphobic language and bullying;
  • How to make your service safe and welcoming for LGBT+ people.

Expected outcomes from the training are:

  • Understanding the different LGBT+ terminologies and identities;
  • Understanding how anti-LGBT+ language and behaviour can negatively impact on LGBT+ people's wellbeing;
  • Understanding how the Equality Act 2010 protects LGBT+ people and how to ensure your organisation is complying with it.

There will also be time for questions at the end, as well as a networking opportunity with other delegates. Refreshments will be provided (tea, coffee and biscuits).

This training is fun and interactive, so come along prepared to particpate, learn and share with other voluntary and public sector organisations.

If you book on to this training and find you are unable to attend, please inform us as soon as possible by emailing info@warwickshirepride.co.uk as we anticipate a waiting list developing due to the high demand for this training. By booking you are agreeing that non-attendance will result in a £50 charge being applied to your organisation.

Further LGBT+ Awareness Training sessions will be held in:

  • Warwick - July 2018
