Event description
Regular LGBT+ Film Night at Redbridge Central Library - organised by Positive East (East London's HIV charity) and Redbridge Libraries.

About this Event

Join Positive East for our regular film screenings in Ilford, in partnership with Redbridge Libraries! This will be shown in the York Room.

To promote awareness around National Hate Crime Awareness Week this session will differ slightly from the usual format.

We’ll be starting at 5pm with a talk from Police Inspector Kimberly Cope from the Metropolitan Police (specifically the Havering, Redbridge and Barking & Dagenham areas). After this, there will be a screening of an award-winning film (one of the first Hollywood films to address HIV and the stigma that surrounds it, starring Tom Hanks). This will be shown in the York Room.

Our volunteers will be welcoming guests at the entrance of the library from 4:30pm. There will be a short break between the evening’s main activities, with a selection of nibbles, juices and hot drinks provided for all.

For more information about these new regular film nights, please email Massimo at massimo.nardi@positiveeast.org.uk

The next film night will be on Monday 11th November and we will be screening a Chilean film about a transgender woman whose life is changed by the death of her boyfriend.
