Description

LGBT History Month: An Evening Collective of Cultural Expression

Join special guests from the LGBT community across London for an evening collective of cross disciplinary art, music and vocal performances

For one night only, The William Morris Gallery will be transformed as the in-house exhibits form a backdrop to this cultural celebration of the diversity of our borough.

The evening will conclude with a unique outdoor performance, inviting guests into a specially created environment. While shelter will be provided in the event of adverse weather, winter woollies are recommended!

Limited spaces are available on a first come first served basis.

Programme items will include:

The LGBT Visual Arts of Waltham Forest

Five of the finest visual artists from Waltham Forest come together for this group exhibition. Relating to the official LGBT History Month theme of Religion, Belief and Philosophy, the exhibition will serve as a backdrop for the unveiling of the LGBT Histories Community Mural and the launch of the LGBT History Education Resources kit.

Enjoy an array of musical and dance performances including:

Hellenistic Hunk (2015-16) by Nick Walters, Cello Sonata in A Minor, Op. 5, a celebrated piece by British lesbian composer, Dame Ethel Smyth, performed by cellist, Midori Jaeger and accompanied by pianist, Edward Liddell and more...
