Event Details

A special queer writing workshop lead by award-winning novelist Anna Freeman for LGBT+ History Month.

----

Prize-winning novelist and host of BBC Radio 4’s Sketches: Stories of Art and People, Anna Freeman, will be leading a Queer writing workshop at Pervasive Media Studio in Watershed.

LGBT+ experiences are complex and varied, but it is essential that these stories are told. This 4-hour workshop will focus on the skills and tools to bring lived experiences to life, whether in fiction, poetry or memoir. There will also feature group discussion and exploration of queer themes and history.

We welcome all experiences and writing styles: playwrights, poets and novelists, beginners and established writers.

----

Produced by Bristol Pride LGBT+ Poet Laureate: Tom Denbigh

Bristol pride

Pride is a positive stance against discrimination and violence toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT+) people to promote their self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights, increase their visibility as a social group, build community, and celebrate sexual diversity and gender variance. Pride, as opposed to shame and social stigma, is the predominant outlook that bolsters most LGBT+ rights movements throughout the world.
