About this event

This session will explore why LGBT+ History Month exists and is so important in creating an equitable society where everybody can live free from prejudice and harm. Simon will explore some of the lived realities that still shape and impact on the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQIA + communities in modern Britain. Students will be able to use this awareness to shape and influence their own practice positively, to think about diversity and identities in their therapeutic practice, and most importantly as a springboard for thinking about your future learning needs.

Simon Blake OBE joined MHFA England as Chief Executive in October 2018, leading the social enterprise to achieve its vision of normalising society’s attitudes and behaviours around mental health, through training one in ten of the population.
