About this event

We are excited to welcome Ben Everly from the University of Sussex Business School to speak about his recent paper around how LGBT+ Supportive HR Practices are related to Disclosure, Authenticity, and Well-being.

Previous research has established that LGBT employees are more likely to derive benefits from working in organisations with supportive LGBT practices in place. However, the psychological mechanisms behind this process are largely unknown. The present research investigates the value of both disclosure and authenticity at work in understanding why perceptions of LGBT supportive practices facilitate the life satisfaction of LGBT employees.

Benjamin's research focuses on intergroup relations and diversity management. At the individual level, his work explores how the presence and disclosure of diverse identities such as gender, race, and sexual orientation influence the attitudes and behaviour of individuals. At the organisational level, his work examines how diversity impacts organisational performance and how organisations can best manage a diverse workforce through human resources policies.
