LGBTQ+ & Associated Mental Health Difficulties in Young People

This session has been designed to provide awareness for staff working with learners who identify as LGBTQ+ in order to help staff faciliate inclusive environments and reduce the risk of associated mental health difficulties.
Included within this session:
- Support for staff to increase their confidence and knowledge around LGBTQ+ terminology
- Information to raise awareness for the growing associated mental health difficulties faced by young people who identify as LGBTQ+.
- Promotion of how organisations and groups can be more inclusive of LGBTQ+ individuals and the LGBTQ+ agenda.
- Support to ensure staff are aware of where to refer LGBTQ+ young people if they are seeking additional support beyond the learning enviornment.
Please note certificates of attendance will be provided for all those who complete the hours FREE awareness session and a feedback form will be available at the end of the session to enable delegates to suggest future training catered to what you need.
Training is carried out by Hannah Burke, Sixth Form and Project Lead for the Rivermead Inclusive Trust. Training is not accredited but will provide an opportunity for proactive learning and positive networking with likeminded professionals.
