Duration: 2 hours
Overview of session:
This training aims to raise awareness of key terms and definitions within the LGBT+ community, increase participants’ knowledge of LGBT+ rights and identify ways in which we can better support people from LGBT+ communities in our own practice.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the training participants will be able to:
• Describe some of the issues faced by the LGBT+ community
• Understand key terms relating to sexual orientation and gender diversity, including the difference between sex and gender
• Identify ways to make young people’s services more LGBT+ inclusive
Recommended for:
Youth and community workers, social workers, teachers, safeguarding teams.
