LGBTQ+ Inclusion Training for organisations, employees and budding allies.
About this event
This 2.5 hour workshop is for organisations, employees and budding allies who are looking to implement inclusive practice but don't quite know what steps to take.
Our trainers, Jacob Bayliss, CEO, and Talycia Nayee, Training and Inclusion Manager, will be taking you on a journey through history, through the eyes of the LGBTQ+ community. They will then provide a space for you to reflect and look at how you or your organisation can help reduce inequalities for marginalised people.
You will go home with a list of quick wins, big steps and future goals for inclusive practice, as well as a whole host of resources sent over to you by email.
Key Objectives:
- To understand the concept of sexual orientation & gender identity
- To feel confident using pronouns to refer to people
- To explore LGBTQ history, legislation and inequalities
- To learn about intersectionality and the impact of multiple marginalisation
- To look at key ways your organisation can champion inclusion
- To apply your learning to sector-specific case studies
- To feel able to challenge incidents in the workplace
- To workshop ways you and your organisation can action this knowledge
If this date/time doesn’t suit you we are also running another training session online on Wednesday 6th July at 10am. Tickets are available here.
What participants said about our training:
“The trainer was very warm and down to earth, willing to answer any questions in a non-judgemental way”
“Interactive, considerate, great trainers who are passionate about their work”
“I think it was really insightful, relevant to our course and helpful moving forward in how to approach people from all identities. It’s really made me change my opening line to patients re. pronouns and highlighted the importance of how to individualise care, not make assumptions and create a safe space for anyone I care for.”
“I thought that Talycia gave amazing opportunities to answer questions and to draw on other people's experiences with consent and respect.”
Cancellation Policy:
The booking price covers administrative fees and as such is non-refundable. In the event that you cannot attend, please provide the details of anyone attending in your place.
