The event will feature talks by Foster Carers, adoptive parents and those on their surrogacy journey, with short presentations from our experts. There will be an opportunity afterwards to network and ask lots of questions!
West Sussex County Council (fosteringwestsussex.org.uk)Brighton and Hove City Council (brighton-hove.gov.uk/foster)East Sussex County Council (eastsussex.gov.uk/fostering)Across Sussex, children who are unable to live with their birth family need foster carers to provide love, care and compassion to help give them the best possible start in life. This could be on a short- or long-term basis and carers receive training, support and competitive pay to help every child achieve their potential.
Adoption South East (adoptionsoutheast.org.uk) is a partnership of councils from East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, and Surrey working to make the adoption process quicker and simpler. We have a wealth of expertise in bringing together children with safe, secure, loving and permanent adoptive families.
The Surrodoula (thesurrodoula.co.uk) is an experienced surrogate, having helped to complete two families. She has worked for a well know UK-based agency, supporting surrogates and intended parents and is passionate about supporting people to have the most positive pregnancy and birth possible, whatever that looks like for you.
Crawley LGBT+ CIC (crawleylgbt.com) is hosting the event at its new community space, The Pod. Crawley LGBT+ aims to raise awareness of the issues facing the LGBTQ+ community, promote the town as an LGBTQ+ safe place, and create a sense of pride. This is done by running LGBTQ+ events, through community engagement, and by supporting the development of services for the LGBTQ+ community in Crawley.
We hope you can join us!
