About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

The UK Government has started a programme of local government reorganisation (LGR), which aims to reduce the number of local councils in England by merging them to create much larger council bodies.

Local councils were set a deadline of March 2025 to submit initial proposals for local government reorganisation. It has now reached a stage where councils must develop and submit final proposals by November 2025.

You can read much more about this by visiting: www.rutland.gov.uk/devolution

This event is one of several LGR discussion groups being organised by Rutland County Council.

It aims to bring residents together in different community venues around Rutland, to discuss the possible impacts of local government reorganisation and gather feedback on people’s priorities and concerns.

These groups are being hosted by Rutland Community Ventures CIC on behalf of Rutland County Council. For more information, please email: communications@rutland.gov.uk

Places are limited, meaning registration is essential. Please book in advance.
