Event description

Description

LHC has commenced the tender process for its new Pitched Roofing framework that is due to be launched this spring worth an estimated £100m over four years and would like to hear from Welsh based companies interesting in tendering.

The framework is aimed at helping landlords and owners of public sector buildings, including social housing, schools, and council offices, procure quickly, compliantly and efficiently and will include the removal of existing roof coverings, the supply and installation of pitched roofing, flat to pitch conversions and associated roofing works.

The framework has been constructed using two value bands across three regional lots in Wales. Companies can only tender for one band. This will provide an opportunity for smaller, local companies to be appointed.

The option designed for works between £5000 and £250,000 will appeal to SME’s, whilst larger companies will be attracted to the band that allows for larger works values (above £250,000+).

The framework will consistent of:

Essential requirements:

  • Removal of existing roof coverings, survey and design
  • Supply and installation of pitched roof covering systems and associated components, supplied and supported by the chosen manufacturer and installation works by the chosen installer
  • General scaffolding design and erection as per the building type
  • Provide roof covering systems such as concrete, clay roof tiles, slates and underlay (inc. battens) that fall within the scope of British Standards requirements. Profiled sheet roof covering falls under BBA

Optional Requirements:

  • Flat to pitch conversions and associated specialised building works (inc. calculations, design and guarantees), and liquid parapet gutter systems
  • Associated roofing works including general building items, rainwater goods, soffits and fascia boards, timber repairs and PVC-U cover trims and boarding, insulation and relevant renewable energy technologies (i.e. solar photovoltaic panels).
