Event description
LI East of England Virtual Winter Social with Prosecco and chocolates and talks given by local landscape professionals.

About this Event

Please join members of the Landscape Institute East of England branch for this year’s virtual winter social. We will be hosting two half-hour talks from local landscape professionals, and to help blow the cobwebs away we will be posting out to all attendees an Adnams Prosecco and Chocolates gift box to indulge in together during the presentations and toast to a better year ahead. There will be a short introduction and time for Q&As following each presentation.

Presentations:

Trumpington Meadows – Designing a new accessible nature reserve for a growing Cambridge (Martin Baker)

Martin Baker is Conservation Manager for the Wildlife Trust in Cambridgeshire. He has worked for nature conservation NGOs for 30 years and has extensive knowledge of habitat management, restoration and creation, with a particular interest in species-rich grasslands. He also has experience of working through the planning system to achieve biodiversity net gain.

Landscape Loss and Restoration – John Clare countryside and the case for nature recovery (Richard Astle)

Richard Astle is chair of Natural Cambridgeshire, the county’s local nature partnership, and of Langdyke Countryside Trust, a community-led conservation charity dedicated to helping nature to recover and people to understand and enjoy the countryside as described by poet John Clare, who was born here. Richard is also a local businessman running one of the county’s largest PR and marketing agencies, based in Peterborough.

Adnams Mini Prosecco & Chocolate Gift Set:

A gift pack containing a 20cl bottle of Adnams Prosecco with six Harris & James Salted Caramel Chocolates will be posted to all attendees in time to be enjoyed during the event. The £2.50 ticket fee includes admission to the event (via video link) and the gift pack including p&p. Tickets (and gift packs) are limited to one per household and may only be purchased by members of the Landscape Institute. Joining instructions will be sent via email closer to the event.

Please note: In order to ensure that you receive your gift pack in time for the event, please book your ticket by 11:59pm on Tuesday 16 February. If you book your ticket after this time we will still endeavour to send your gift pack in time, but due to Royal Mail delays, it may arrive after the event.

Adnams Prosecco is a fresh, celebratory wine made from the Glera grape variety. Adnams Prosecco is suitable for vegans. It contains sulphites.
