Event description
LI Registered Practice Sessions - WEDNESDAY 25 AUG

About this event

August registered practice sessions!

This latest series of sessions are running quarterly, May's sessions focused on business support and development and this time we're looking at policy and insight.

The session will start with Laura Schofield our membership development manager, reporting on the LI's current activities and initiatives.

Ben Brown, head of policy and insight, and Theo Plowman, policy and public affairs manager, will be leading the rest of the session.

We're keen to hear your insight on what's happening in our sector today and how the LI needs to respond. These round-table discussions are the perfect chance for our registered practice heads to share their thoughts with the LI leadership and let us know what you want from your Institute.

Each session will be broken down in to sections so there's plenty of opportunity for feedback. Please note we'll also be recording each session to ensure that we can respond to any feedback as needed and fully capture the insights from them.

Session details

We'll be running two sessions in this series. Both sessions will have the same content but will be run at different times to enable more of our Registered Practice heads to attend.

Tuesday 24 August: 8.30-10.00am

Wednesday 25 August: 4.30-6.00pm

10 min - Introduction and updates from the LI

10 min - Feedback

15 min - Sector survey BB

25 min - Q&A/Feedback

10 min - General policy update TP

20 min - Embodied carbon breakout session

The session will start with Laura Schofield our membership development manager, reporting on the LI's current activities and initiatives.

Ben Brown, head of policy and insight, and Theo Plowman, policy and public affairs manager, will be leading the rest of the session.

The first half will look at our next talent and skills sector survey, providing an insight into previous work and how you can help shape the next one.

The second half will be an overview of our current policy priorities before a breakout session that will deep dive into issues our practices are facing. The LI is working to develop an embodied carbon toolkit to enable practitioners to specify low carbon materials and understand the carbon footprint of potential projects. Working with registered practices we hope to explore what the sector really needs and how the LI can support in delivering low carbon landscapes.
