In May 2025, the UK Government presented a ‘white paper’ known as “Restoring Control over the Immigration System”. This action and the subsequent discussions have been criticised for employing fear-driven and authoritarian language.
As part of the Migrants' Rights Network (MRN) Words Matter campaign, this 2-hour workshop aims to challenge the language used in the current public debate to describe immigration. Through real-life stories, we will critically reflect, connect, and co-create new narratives of migration and community.
📍 Where: Parliament Hill, Highgate Rd, London NW5 1RL (the venue details will be shared in the location guidance before the workshop)
🗓️ When: 28th September 2025 (Sunday)
🕐 Time: 14:00 - 16:00
🎟️ Cost: Free, refreshments will be provided at a picnic after the workshop at Hampstead Heath, welcome to join!
