Given the task, in Combined Operations, Mountbatten presented him with a full-scale invasion plan to attack the Germans and free the island, but at what cost? In 2023 The Military Academy at Sandhurst sponsored a time phased wargame using the recent release of secret British documents. We follow their story of how Guernsey’s D Day was planned and investigate exactly what would have happened had Coverlet been Guernsey’s very own D Day. Lecture by Christopher Oliver.
