Library Camp UK 13
Date and time
Description
As library camps grow in number, so LibCampUK13 grows in stature. Now in its' third year and with an unprecedented level of interest, great things are expected from you the campers. In a brand new home, the totemic Library of Birmingham, the auguries for #LibCampUK13 are good.
Librarycamp is an unconference about libraries - like a conference, but better. A participant-driven, powerpoint free zone, with no keynotes, where the participants lead the agenda – in fact, there isn’t an agenda until people make suggestions for what they’d like to talk about at the start of the day. It’s free to attend and is open to anyone: public/private/whatever sector and you don't have to work in a library. It’s an unconference so we try to follow the principles of Open Space events - people can wander in and out of sessions, tweet, blog, film and take photos all day.
In order to raise the bar for #cakecamp we're introducing #snackcamp. Bring along your favourite lunchtime nibble, whether it's your prized bacon and egg ice cream presented in a container of dry ice or a packet of Chipsticks. It will all be welcomed, peered at, consumed and more importantly judged!
Visit the LibcampUK13 wiki to find out more, check out the sessions already proposed and propose your own session.
Librarycamp UK 13 was made possible by The Crowdfunders plus the Public and Mobile Libraries Group (PMLG), OCLC, Ken Chad Consulting, DigiEnable & UKGovCamp.
