LICAMM Inaugural Lecture - Sikha Saha

Sikha did her PhD in Neuroscience in the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Leeds in 1991. She then joined the Cardiovascular Department in the Faculty of Medicine and Health first as BHF Research Fellow and then as Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow. She was appointed as University Senior Research Fellow in 2005 and lecturer in 2012 before she was promoted to Associate Professor in 2018.
Sikha was promoted to Professor of Cerebrovascular Medicine in April 2021. Her research focuses on cerebrovascular diseases, blood brain barrier, biomarkers, biosensing and bioimaging supported by the prestigious MRC, BBSRC, EPSRC, Innovate UK, Industries and Charities. Her research led to high quality translational outputs including blood brain barrier model, diagnostic device development, securing patent, licensing and spin-out company.
