This is a circular walk around the Lickey Hills
Meeting arrangements:
The leader will meet the group at Barnt Green Station.
By Train: Catch 9.23 am from New Street Station arriving at Barnt Green 9.50 am. Fare: off peak return £6. Rail pass holders will need a ticket from Longbridge to Barnt Green return. Walk Description:
Starting from Barnt Green station this walk climbs gently to the visitor centre. From there, keeping our height, it crosses to Beacon Hill with views of Birmingham and a short break weather permitting. After that the route descends to the golf tea rooms before climbing up gradually via orchards to the visitor centre again. And then it is all downhill to Barnt Green Station! Please note: the Visitor Centre has no catering facilities. You can top up water bottles and there are toilets. The Golf course cafe serves hot drinks and snacks and also has toilet facilities. If we have time, we’ll take a tea break there. Please bring your lunch and water/drinks for the day and suitable winter clothing. Distance 5 miles with approximately 900ft climb in total.
Expressions of Interest for this walk will close at 06.00 on Thursday 15 January 2026. After this, please email bhamramblersenquiries@gmail.com to enquire about any late availability for the walk.
===================================================================
If you later find that you are unable to join us it would be helpful if you let us know by sending an email to bhamramblersenquiries@gmail.com - this will be passed on to the walk leader and will prevent any delay to the start of the walk should the leader be waiting for you. Please note that some walks have a waiting list so tickets are NOT TRANSFERABLE; if you are unable to join us then please cancel your place to free it up for someone who may be on the waiting list rather than passing it to someone else.
