Come and join us at this free event on the future of farming being held at Coleg Sir Gar, Gelli Aur Campus.

There will be the opportunity to listen to, and ask questions of knowledgeable agricultural speakers and a further two local experts regarding the future of agriculture.

Roddy McLean, Head of Agriculture for NatWest will be presenting 2017 & Beyond – The Challenges and Opportunities for Agriculture.

Roddy is an agricultural specialist within the bank. Before joining the Bank he worked in an agricultural consultancy in NE Scotland and at home in the Eastern Scottish Borders for some twenty years. His roots have always been with Agriculture.

Roddy is responsible for updating all areas of the bank regarding the sector. He helps to shape the Bank’s policy towards farming and gets involved in some of the larger or unusual funding requests.

Nerys Llewellyn Jones, the Managing Partner of Agri Advisor, will be speaking on Farming Succession, and Collaborative farming.

Agri Advisor was established in 2011 by Dr Nerys Llewellyn Jones on her home farm in Pumsaint. With a strong agricultural focus, bilingual staff from rural backgrounds and a main office in Carmarthen, they are well placed to provide a range of legal and advisory services to farmers and landowners directly relevant to the issues faced by their businesses.

There will be the opportunity to ask questions of our Panel of Experts, Roddy McLean and Nerys Llewellyn Jones will be joined by Eirian Humphreys from LHP accountants and Wendy Jenkins from CARA

There will also be an opportunity to meet other agricultural businesses and farmers. Refreshments and a buffet supper will then be available.

In addition the College have offered to host a farm walk around Gelli Aur demonstrating the facility that they have there, sharing the knowledge and teachings that are usually only available to their students.
