Event description

Description

We'll be facilitating our 5th Life after Cancer programme during Winter 2020. This is a coaching programme for anyone who has been affected by cancer. After our own experience with cancer, we quickly realised that the world was a very different colour post cancer. Cancer shaped our lives so we created this programme to support others in shaping theirs.

Life after Cancer Programme: The programme will be delivered through 6 workshops, over 3 Thursday's (one workshop in the morning, one in the afternoon), limited to 12 people. The workshops will help you to fulfil your potential after cancer by dealing early on with some of the issues that may have arisen by your diagnosis. We will encourage you to trust your whole self and to support you to live in a way that is in line with who you are after cancer.

Subject areas include: life after cancer (values, beliefs, priorities); what we need to feel 100%, creating a life vision after cancer; the stories we tell ourselves and how we can re-write these, managing emotions, increasing confidence and decreasing fear. ⠀

During the programme, you will be given an interactive, written workbook to capture your learnings, which can be revisited in the future and a one-to-one coaching session.

About Life after Cancer: Life After Cancer brings people together who have finished cancer treatment with an aim to increase their well-being. The support they receive reduces the risk of serious mental distress and helps them to build a positive life after their cancer experience. The group is facilitated by an ICF qualified coach who has their own personal experience of cancer treatment.

Time & Dates: The time & dates are as follows: 10am - 4pm on Thursday 23/January, 6/February & 20/February. If you can't attend one of these dates, please let me know.

Cost: This is a free programme thanks to funding from Macmillan.

Location: The Salvation Army, 434 Forest Road, E17 4PY

Travel: If you are coming by tube, the best option is Black Horse Road on the Victoria Line. The 123 bus brings you to the William Morris Gallery, opposite the Salvation Army (only four stops). It heads towards Ilford. If you fancy a walk, it is literally a straight road to the Salvation Army hall and takes 15 minutes. It is slightly quicker to walk from Walthamstow Central.

Parking: There is parking in front and to the side of the Salvation Army but it only provides 30 minutes free parking all day. If you need to drive, please let me know and we will help you sort.
