Life Beyond Bump- A Pelvic Floor, Core and Women's Health Talk

Join us for our Pelvic Floor and Core Health Workshop, for any woman who has ever given birth, or about to have a baby, on Thursday 20th April at 7.30pm in Oxted, and learn all about how to address pelvic floor issues, reduce and prevent leaking and take control of your own core health. This event features presentations from Womens Health specialists and is therefore also of value for all healthcare professionals looking after women in the postpartum period and beyond.

Issues with your pelvic floor at any point of your life after giving birth (whether that is months or years ago) can lead to urinary incontinence, low back pain, pain during sex, pelvic organ prolapse and diastasis recti (mummy tummy). You will learn all about the pelvic floor and core and how to safely strengthen and nourish those muscles again.
You will be in the amazing hands of health professionals passionate and dedicated to women’s health. They will give you the tools you need to solve, prevent and insure against core and pelvic floor issues.
In the first half of the workshop Miss Ranee Thaker, Consultant Urogynaecologist and Obstetrician and Specialist Women’s health physiotherapist, Emma Brockwell will talk to you about the function of the pelvic floor and the importance of rehabilitating the core muscles correctly post baby.
In part 2, Women’s Health and Fitness coach, Alix Hubble will teach the group how to strengthen the pelvic floor and core muscles so that for years to come you will have a solid, strong and dependable muscular system that does not let you down when you cough, sneeze, laugh or exercise. Helen Moynihan, Nutritional therapist will end the evening with a talk on the importance of nutrition post baby, a key element to guarantee your body heals and is nourished correctly.
We are passionate about Womens Health and giving you the tools to take control of your bodies so that you can look after yourself!
This will be an invaluable evening of education as well as learning practical and applicable techniques that you can use to improve your pelvic health straight away.
Healthy snacks, Elderflower Prosecco and non-alcohoic refreshments as well as goody bags are included.
There will be time to ask questions and talk to the speakers during the break.
Ticket and Raffle proceeds are going to our chosen local charities, Homestart Surrey, a charity that provides support to families with young children to deal with challenges such as postnatal depressions, isolation, physical health problems and bereavement and The Caterham and Oxted NCT's new shared experience service, a charitable network linking parents with other parents who have gone through a similar difficult experience and are willing to provide support.
