Inspired by the first major exhibition of visionary artist Ithell Colquhoun that is currently on show at Tate Modern, this is part 2 of our Ithell Colquhoun inspired series – and the theme is 'The Body as Landscape (Psychogeography)'.
Colquhoun was deeply connected to the Cornish landscape, seeing magical forms and entities within it. This session will invite drawers to see the human body as a landscape, blurring the lines between human, plant, geography and animal forms. Let's create hybrid forms and see the universal patterns of nature within the human body.
This session encourages looking at form, texture, and mass in a non-literal way, transmuting flesh into earth. We will move beyond simple anatomical representation and delve into the realms of surrealism, occultism, and the natural world. It will be about capturing the unseen energies and symbolic nature of the human form.
