The beauty, the perseverance, the surreal edge, and let's not forget those eyebrows. Colourful drapes, and fabric and flowers interwoven through dark hair. This will be our penultimate session at Sketchy Beats before we move to Summerhall's Anatomy Lecture Theatre from January!
Come one come all to our weekly Wednesday life drawing sessions at the Sketchy Beats Cafe. It's £5 on the door, or pre-book for a guaranteed seat (it's cosy in there!). There's materials to buy and to borrow (but you're welcome to bring your favoured paraphernalia), drawing boards are provided, and it's £2 for unlimited BYOB corkage. And what's more, the cafe will be open serving tea, coffee, hot chocs, and nibbles. These sessions are untutored but Topaz will happily give tips and pointers if you're new to life drawing (complete beginners are more than encouraged, there's no judgement here, just openness for playing and experimenting, whatever the outcome). There'll be an eclectic mix of tunes to help you zone out, focus and relax, and each week we'll have different models in a lightly themed set-up: nude enough to engage simply with the figure, yet quirky enough to explore a themed approach should you wish to. Doors for drawing open at 6.45, but the Cafe's open from 4pm if fancing coming down early. Looking forward to welcoming you there! xx Topaz (Reconfigure) and Cosima (Sketchy Beats Cafe)
