Oh, If only we could have Iris Apfel come and model for us! Now there's a woman who likes wearing jewellery. And lots of it. Hey ho, in Iris's absence we'll have Topaz's prolific jewellery-maker housemate Maria modelling her own macrame creations which you can buy on the night, as well as a model yet to be found, wearing ALL THE JEWELLERRY it's possible to wear and still be able to move. Nae, I jest. Expect delicacy, the intersecting geometry of figure and silver, shine and sparkle, and perhaps a hint of avant garde costume.
Come one come all to our weekly Wednesday life drawing sessions at the Sketchy Beats Cafe. It's £5 on the door, or pre-book on Eventbrite for a guaranteed seat (it's cosy in there!). There's materials to buy and to borrow (but you're welcome to bring your favoured paraphernalia), drawing boards are provided, and it's £2 for unlimited BYOB corkage. And what's more, the cafe will be open serving tea, coffee, hot chocs, and nibbles. These sessions are untutored but Topaz will happily give tips and pointers if you're new to life drawing (complete beginners are more than encouraged, there's no judgement here, just openness for playing and experimenting, whatever the outcome). There'll be an eclectic mix of tunes to help you zone out, focus and relax, and each week we'll have different models in a lightly themed set-up: nude enough to engage simply with the figure, yet quirky enough to explore a themed approach should you wish to. Doors for drawing open at 6.45, but the Cafe's open from 4pm if fancing coming down early. Looking forward to welcoming you there! xx Topaz (Reconfigure) and Cosima (Sketchy Beats Cafe)
