Life Drawing with Alice Leng

Following the success of our life drawing sessions at CCA Galleries last year we are inviting artists to host Life Drawing sessions in the gallery.

These drawing sessions have been designed to make use of our spectacular light-filled space over three levels. With life models and artworks visible from multiple vantage points, this is a dynamic life-drawing session. Participants can rotate from easel to portable boards, across three floors: moving between poses and models to find interesting views from above and below. If you are interested in pushing your life drawing skills this will be a perfect session with plenty of scope to draw the body from unusual aerial vantage points.

This class will be taught by Alice Leng, a young artist currently studying classical drawing and painting in Florence. This session will be perfect for those seeking to dip into classical drawing techniques, develop observational drawing skills, or simply enjoy a fun and engaging experience.

Alice Leng, 25, is a Jersey born portrait artist working primarily in oil and charcoal.

Leng has a BA in Fine Art from Winchester School of Art and is currently training at Charles Cecil Studios, a classical atelier focused on portraiture in Florence, Italy. Alice is committed to traditional techniques, working under natural light using the sight-size method. Using this method allows her to capture who the sitter actually is more accurately, making her work come alive. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including a group show at Villa Palmerino in Florence and was the winner of the summer exhibition as well as the audience prize at the CCA Galleries in 2025.

Suitable for anyone over 16 years of age from beginners to experienced artists.

Sessions are on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm. Cost £35 per session + Eventbrite fees or places and vouchers can be purchased directly from the gallery.
