Event description

Description

Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to practice life drawing this course will help you develop your observational skills and confidence. Working with a life model you will develop an understanding of proportion, space, light and tone, and the appropriate use of materials.

Through a series of drawing exercises and a mixture of short and long poses you will be encouraged to explore and develop your personal approach to drawing using a range of materials including charcoal, graphite, ink and wash. You will discover a range of expressive responses to the human form and environment.

Some paper will be provided. Students will need to bring: A3 sketchbook; plastic eraser; solid graphite chunky stick 2B/3B; range of graphite pencils (water soluble); compressed charcoal stick 2B/3B; range of bristle brushes; craft knife; 3 small tubes of acrylic paint (black, white, yellow ochre).

All levels welcome.

Costs: £200
