Working from the life model in the studio, this 6 -week course invites you to explore your individual mark-making language through structured drawing exercises focused on the human form. Each session begins with a short slide talk on an artist whose work relates to that week’s focus—offering inspiration and context. Through playful experimentation with materials such as charcoal, graphite, ink, and brushes, you’ll be encouraged to respond to the figure in expressive and varied ways. The emphasis is on drawing as a form of thinking and seeing—where observation, gesture, tone, and rhythm all play a part in shaping your approach. This course supports students of all levels to deepen their confidence and fluency in drawing while developing a more personal visual vocabulary.
