This is a Therapeutic Parenting Workshop.

This workshop will cover:

Foster carer worries and concerns about doing life story work with children.

Often we worry about upsetting children or making things worse when talking about difficult and upsetting things in relation to a child’s history. This training will acknowledge these real worries and help overcome them by making carers feel more confident and competent in life story work.

Why children need life story work.

This training will explore the benefits of life story work and how developing a narrative for children that can help heal and process trauma as well as helping children develop a sense of identity.

How do carers provide life story work?

Foster carers are often the best people to do life story work with children. Life story work doesn’t have to be complicated and can be done in a variety of ways and formats, which we will talk about on this training.
