Event description

Description

Life Story Work, often confused with Life Story Books which is only part of Life Story Work, but it is important for social workers and foster carers/adopters to distinguish between the two. This workshop is not exclusively for foster carers, adopters or social workers, but also for any families who have step-families, as correctly applied Life Stories help children make sense of their past and improve their ability to cope with the demands of the future and become fully integrated.

With the digital age there are a lot more ways of doing Life Story work with young people.

This workshop will not only clarify the differences between the two concepts, but also explain the purpose of Life Story Work, different ways of approaching Life Story work, what to include and not include, how to manage trauma whilst still remaining true to fact, and who to include in Life Story work.

After this workshop you will not only be more confident in doing Life Story work, but also be able to provide a purposeful, high quality therapeutic document that the young person can refer to throughout the rest of their lives to help them grow a postive sense of identity, belonging, and give them the confidence and strenght to face the future.

We also have special Early Bird Discounts and Exhibitor Stands Available.

Exhibitors will be promoted on our social media, press releases and if booked before 1st August, will appear on our promotional material. Promote your Foster Agency, Therapeutic resource or Charity working with families and children.
